1. Transportation

Chandel District is connected by the National Highway No.39 reaching upto Moreh. There are several buses plying from Imphal to Chandel daily. The State Highway No. 10 diverts from National Highway No. 39 at Pallel connecting the district head quarters.

To visit Chandel district, the following information may provide some help.

1. To visit Chandel District HQ and Chandel block, one can catch Chandel buses at Keishampat Bus Parking (at Imphal) or catch any bus reaching Kakching and catch Chandel buses from Kakching or Kakching Lamkhai.

2. To visit Chakpikarong division (block), one can catch Chakpikarong buses at Keishampat Bus Parking (at Imphal) or catch any bus reaching Kakching and catch Chakpikarong buses from Kakching or Kakching Lamkhai.

3. To visit Tengnoupal division (block) or Moreh, one catch buses or Tata Sumos at Moreh Bus Parking (at Imphal).

4. To visit Machi division (block), at present there is no bus service. Only trucks are carrying passengers between Machi and Kakching. So hiring of light vehicles is recommended to visit Machi.
